In a significant move to boost exports and strengthen economic ties, the Pakistani government has granted final approval for a strategic plan to Meat Export to Malaysia. This initiative is a key part of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision to enhance the country’s trade portfolio.
The approval was finalized during a high-level meeting in Islamabad, jointly chaired by the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar Khan, Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan.

Key Decisions and Export Target
The meeting resulted in several crucial decisions to ensure the plan’s success:
- Industry Status: The halal meat sector will be granted formal industry status, which is expected to streamline operations and significantly boost export volumes.
- Modern Infrastructure: Modern slaughterhouses meeting Malaysian quality standards will be established to enhance commercial capacity and ensure compliance.
- Collaborative Framework: The plan is the result of a consensus among all relevant ministries and stakeholders, creating a comprehensive and effective business framework for exports.
The government has set an ambitious export target of $200 million to be achieved within the next 3 to 5 years.
This project marks a major step forward for Pakistan’s economy, promising to increase foreign exchange earnings and solidify a strategic trade partnership with Malaysia.
