Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has officially launched Sky Clinic, a cutting-edge satellite-powered telemedicine system designed to revolutionize healthcare access in remote and underserved areas of the country.

Unveiled at ITCN Asia 2025 in Karachi, the system has been developed in partnership with Innotech. Unlike conventional telehealth services that rely on internet connectivity, Sky Clinic ensures seamless communication through SUPARCO’s satellites, making it fully functional even in areas without internet coverage.

Tech Moguls Predict the End of Smartphones

Each portable Sky Clinic terminal comes equipped with:

  • Diagnostic tools
  • Vital sign monitoring systems
  • Ultrasound facilities
  • Real-time consultation features with specialist doctors

Officials explained that a single unit can serve both individuals and entire communities, providing on-the-spot medical support and connecting patients with expert healthcare professionals instantly.

The initiative is seen as a bold leap toward inclusive, technology-driven healthcare in Pakistan, particularly for rural and disaster-prone regions where medical access remains a major challenge.
