According to the State Bank, the volume of housing loans provided by banks in February decreased by 3.6% compared to the same month last year. The total volume of housing loans in February was recorded at Rs 200 billion, down from Rs 207 billion in February last year. On a monthly basis, the decrease was 0.2% compared to January. The total loans provided to the private sector by banks in February were recorded at Rs 9304 billion.
