Islamabad, June 2025 – In a major policy shift designed to provide economic relief to Salaried Class-income earners, the Federal Government has announced sweeping tax cuts that will substantially reduce income tax burdens for salaried individuals.
India vs Pakistan Military Comparison 2025: Defence Power, Budget & Capabilities
Key Reforms Include:
- 80% Tax Reduction for middle-class professionals: Individuals earning Rs. 100,000/month (Rs. 1.2 million annually) will see their monthly tax payment drop from Rs. 5,000 to just Rs. 1,000
- Tax Rate Slashed from 5% to 1% for the Rs. 600,000 – Rs. 1.2 million income bracket
- Extended Relief for higher income groups through revised tax brackets
- Green Energy Incentive: Tax on solar panels reduced from proposed 18% to 10% to promote renewable energy adoption
Economic Rationale:
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb explained the measures are specifically designed to:
- Boost disposable income for inflation-hit households
- Stimulate consumer spending to drive economic growth
- Encourage sustainable energy solutions amid power challenges
Impact Analysis:
The changes mean a professional earning Rs. 100,000/month will:
- Save Rs. 4,000 monthly (Rs. 48,000 annually)
- Effectively gain nearly an extra month’s salary per year
“This targeted relief package prioritizes Salaried Class Pakistanis who have borne the brunt of economic pressures,” Aurangzeb stated, indicating these are part of broader fiscal reforms in the 2025-26 budget.
