Pakistan has officially inaugurated its first-ever ferry terminal at Karachi Port, marking an important step toward strengthening regional maritime connectivity and passenger transport. The new terminal is designed to support international ferry operations and improve travel and trade links across the region.
According to officials, ferry services between Karachi Port and Iran’s Chabahar Port are scheduled to begin on 20 January. The service is expected to provide a new, affordable travel option for passengers while also facilitating people-to-people contact and commercial exchange between the two countries.

The launch of ferry services to Chabahar is seen as a positive development for regional cooperation, tourism, and trade, offering a new route that complements existing sea and land connections.
