Pak Suzuki Motors has officially dismissed the rumors circulating about the potential return of the Suzuki Mehran in 2025. The rumors, fueled by a viral post on social media, claimed that the iconic car would be reintroduced in three variants: VX, VXR, and VXL. However, Pak Suzuki has emphatically denied these claims, stating there are no plans to relaunch the Mehran in any form.

The Suzuki Mehran, which became a staple on Pakistan’s roads for over three decades, was discontinued in 2019 after a long and successful run. The small, affordable car was beloved by many due to its simplicity, reliability, and low cost of maintenance, making it a popular choice for families, commuters, and even as a fleet vehicle. Its departure left a significant void in the Pakistani automotive market, and rumors of its return have resurfaced periodically ever since.

The rumors recently gained traction when AI-generated videos showcasing a car labeled “Mehran 2025” went viral online. These videos depicted a modern version of the Mehran, with updated features, leading some to believe that the car was being reintroduced. Alongside these videos, several unofficial websites started speculating about the car’s possible price, suggesting that it could be priced between 1.2 million and 1.6 million rupees, which further fueled the excitement among fans of the brand.

Pak Suzuki Motors quickly moved to clarify the situation, issuing an official statement rejecting the speculation. In the statement, the company emphasized that it is neither developing a new version of the Mehran nor planning to bring it back into production. The company also urged the public to disregard any videos, posts, or news claiming otherwise, reaffirming that no new variants of the Mehran are in the works.

This clarification comes after increased attention towards the compact car segment in Pakistan, as new entrants and updated models from other automakers are beginning to compete in the market. Despite the speculation, Pak Suzuki’s focus is on continuing to develop and offer new models like the Suzuki Alto, which has become a more modern and fuel-efficient replacement for the Mehran.

In response to the ongoing excitement about the Mehran’s potential return, Pak Suzuki reiterated its commitment to providing high-quality vehicles that cater to the evolving needs of the Pakistani market. The company has also hinted at potential new models that could address the demands for affordable and fuel-efficient cars in the future. However, it was clear that the Mehran would not be making a comeback, as Pak Suzuki shifts its focus to other models in their portfolio.

This marks the second time in recent years that rumors of the Mehran’s return have surfaced. In 2020, similar speculations about the car’s revival also spread, but they were dispelled in the same manner. While the Mehran will always hold a place in the hearts of many Pakistanis, it is clear that Pak Suzuki’s plans do not include the reintroduction of this iconic model. The company is now looking towards the future and new innovations to continue serving the needs of the Pakistani automobile market.
