Forbes has recently released the list of the 10 poorest countries in the world, with most of them located in Africa. Sudan ranks first, with a GDP of $29.99 billion and a population of 11.1 million. Burundi follows in second place, a small landlocked country in East Africa with a GDP of just $2.15 billion and a population of over 13 million. The Central African Republic (CAR) ranks third, with a GDP of $3.03 billion and a population of around 5.8 million. Malawi, with a population of over 21 million, is the fourth poorest country with a GDP of $10.78 billion.

Mozambique, a former Portuguese colony, has a GDP of $24.55 billion and a population of approximately 34.5 million, making it the fifth poorest. Somalia comes next, with a population of 19 million and a GDP of only $13.89 billion. The Democratic Republic of Congo, which has a population of over 104 million, faces severe economic challenges with a GDP of $79.24 billion. Almost 62% of its population lives on less than $1 a day.

Liberia, with a population of 5.4 million, is the eighth poorest country, with a GDP of just $5.05 billion. Yemen, a close ally of Iran, ranks ninth with a GDP of $16.22 billion and a population of 34.4 million. Lastly, Madagascar, an island nation with a population of 30.3 million, rounds out the list with a GDP of $18.1 billion.

These countries struggle with severe economic issues, including poverty, lack of infrastructure, and ongoing conflicts, which hinder their growth and development.
