The Kia Picanto may be making a comeback in Pakistan, with Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) reportedly preparing to introduce the latest-generation hatchback in the local market.

According to automotive expert Suneel Sarfraz Munj, LMC is working on bringing the new Picanto to Pakistan, potentially as early as next month. However, Lucky Motor has not officially confirmed the launch date, price or specifications.

The development comes shortly after the previous-generation 1.0-litre Picanto was discontinued in Pakistan following nearly six years in the market. New bookings for the outgoing model were reportedly closed.

Interestingly, Kia Pakistan’s official website still features a dedicated Picanto booking page and refers to the vehicle as the “all-new Kia Picanto,” suggesting that preparations for a new model could already be underway.

What Could the New Picanto Offer?

The latest Picanto features updated styling, technology and safety equipment in international markets. Specifications for Pakistan, however, will depend on the version selected by LMC.

In Australia, the 2026 Picanto is available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 62 kW and 122 Nm, with manual and automatic transmission options. It measures 3,595 mm in length and offers 255 litres of luggage space with the rear seats in place.

Other markets continue to offer 1.0-litre versions, so the engine and equipment package for Pakistan remain unconfirmed.

If launched, the new Picanto could help Kia regain ground in Pakistan’s compact hatchback segment, competing with popular models such as the Suzuki Cultus and Wagon R.
