Ali Pervaiz Malik emphasized that domestic consumers across the country will continue to receive a stable supply of gas. He assured that the government is taking necessary steps to ensure uninterrupted gas availability during peak winter months, when demand is usually high.
The minister also highlighted improvements in the performance of gas distribution companies. According to him, gas losses at both Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) have been significantly reduced. This progress reflects better management, increased efficiency, and stricter monitoring within the sector.
Officials believe that these reforms will strengthen the gas sector in the long term and help maintain price stability. The government’s focus remains on protecting consumers while improving the financial health of gas companies.
The announcement has been welcomed by households and businesses alike, as it provides much-needed relief amid rising living costs. Analysts say maintaining stable gas prices could also help control inflation and support economic stability.
Overall, the government’s decision to freeze gas prices for six months signals its commitment to consumer welfare and sustainable energy sector reforms.
