Air travelers in Pakistan can expect lower domestic airfare after airlines reduced ticket prices in response to a decline in international jet fuel costs. The adjustment is expected to provide some financial relief to passengers, although taxes and fuel surcharges continue to keep overall travel costs relatively high.
According to aviation industry sources, airlines have revised fares on several key domestic routes. One-way tickets from Islamabad to Quetta are now available between Rs. 16,770 and Rs. 48,890, depending on the airline, travel date, and booking time.
On the Lahore–Quetta route, fares now range from Rs. 12,020 to Rs. 44,140, while passengers traveling between Karachi and Quetta can purchase one-way tickets priced between Rs. 13,603 and Rs. 44,000.

Despite the reduction in base fares, travelers are still required to pay an average fuel surcharge of Rs. 7,840, in addition to government taxes and other mandatory charges. As a result, the final cost of a standard one-way domestic ticket often exceeds Rs. 26,000, even after the recent fare adjustment.
Industry experts note that ticket prices remain dynamic and are influenced by several factors, including passenger demand, seasonal travel, and seat availability. During holidays, peak travel periods, or last-minute bookings, fares on busy routes such as Quetta–Islamabad and Karachi–Islamabad can still rise significantly, with one-way tickets reaching as high as Rs. 58,875.
Airlines say the latest fare revision reflects savings achieved through lower jet fuel prices and demonstrates their effort to pass a portion of reduced operating costs on to passengers. However, they also emphasize that taxation, airport charges, and fluctuating demand continue to play a major role in determining the final ticket price.
The fare reduction is welcome news for domestic travelers and is expected to encourage greater air travel in the coming weeks.
