Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the nation and announced a series of important decisions aimed at reducing government expenses, improving administrative efficiency, and managing national resources more carefully. These steps are designed to encourage responsibility within government institutions while also adapting to current economic and administrative needs.

One of the key decisions is a 50 percent reduction in petrol usage for vehicles used by government departments for the next two months. This move is expected to lower fuel expenses and promote responsible use of public resources.

The Prime Minister also announced that 50 percent of employees in both the government and private sectors will work from home. This decision is intended to reduce travel, save fuel, and make work processes more flexible where possible.

Another major change is that government offices will operate only four days a week. The shorter work week is expected to reduce operational costs while maintaining essential services.

In a move to demonstrate accountability, cabinet members, ministers, and advisors have decided not to take their salaries for the next two months.

The government has also introduced several restrictions. Foreign visits by the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, and Governors have been temporarily banned to limit unnecessary expenditures. Additionally, government dinners and official Iftar gatherings have been completely banned.

For the education sector, all schools will remain closed for two weeks starting from the end of this week, while online classes will begin immediately in schools, colleges, and universities to ensure that students continue their education without interruption.
