In a significant move aimed at providing relief to the public, Shehbaz Sharif addressed the nation and announced a substantial reduction in fuel price across Pakistan. The government has reduced the price of petrol by 12 rupees per liter, bringing it down from 378 rupees to 366 rupees per liter. Even more notably, the price of diesel has been slashed by 135 rupees per liter, dropping from 520 rupees to 385 rupees per liter. This decision is expected to ease the financial burden on citizens, especially those who rely heavily on fuel for daily transportation and business activities.

The Prime Minister emphasized that this step is part of the government’s commitment to pass on the benefits of falling international oil prices directly to the people. He reminded the nation that earlier, a reduction of 80 rupees per liter in petrol prices had already been implemented, and this latest cut further strengthens the government’s promise to provide economic relief whenever possible. According to him, ensuring affordability in essential commodities like fuel remains a top priority.

In addition to the price cuts, the government has decided to continue its transport subsidy programs. These subsidies are specifically targeted at motorcycles, public transport, and goods-carrying vehicles, which play a crucial role in the daily lives of farmers, laborers, and small business owners. The initiative, developed in consultation with provincial governments, also extends to regions such as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring nationwide support.

During his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted a positive shift in the regional situation. He stated that, by the grace of Allah, there is currently no threat of war in the Gulf region, and instead, efforts toward peace are gaining momentum. This development has contributed to stability in global oil markets, allowing the government to offer relief measures at home.

Overall, this announcement marks an important step toward economic support and stability, reflecting the government’s focus on easing inflationary pressures while promoting peace and progress.
