President Donald Trump is not happy with some of America’s biggest allies. He says South Korea, Australia, and Japan refused to help the United States when it needed them. But here is the part that really bothers him – the US has thousands of troops stationed in those countries. Around 50,000 soldiers in Japan and 45,000 in South Korea. Their main job is to protect those nations from North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un. And guess what? Trump says he actually has a very good relationship with Kim. So he is asking a fair question: why won’t these allies step up and help America now, when America has spent so much money and risked so many lives to keep them safe? It is a classic Trump moment – blunt, frustrated, and very personal. He feels the deal is one-sided. And he is not afraid to say it out loud. Whether you agree with him or not, you have to admit he makes a point. Allies should act like allies. Otherwise, why are American troops still there? This kind of talk is exactly why world leaders never know what to expect from him next. But for many regular Americans, what he is saying just makes sense.
