Pakistan Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu paid an official visit to Iraq, where he met Iraqi Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Staff Pilot Muhand Ghalib Mohammad Razi Al-Assadi, according to a statement issued by ISPR.
The Air Chief was accorded a warm and ceremonial welcome at the Iraqi Air Force Headquarters, including a guard of honor. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral military cooperation, with a focus on joint training, capacity building, aviation industry collaboration, and enhanced operational coordination.
Pakistan and Germany Finalize Dual Nationality Agreement
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu highlighted the strong religious, cultural, and historical ties between Pakistan and Iraq, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding defense collaboration. The Iraqi Air Force Chief praised the professionalism and advanced operational capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force and expressed interest in joint exercises, pilot exchange programs, and the potential acquisition of JF-17 Thunder and Super Mushshak aircraft.
The visit reflects the shared resolve of both countries to deepen defense ties and enhance cooperation in the field of air power and aviation.
