Pakistan has officially finalized a dual nationality agreement with Germany, bringing welcome news for Pakistanis living there. With this development, Germany has been added to Pakistan’s list of countries that allow dual citizenship for Pakistani nationals.
According to the Embassy of Pakistan in Berlin, Pakistanis of Pakistani origin who apply for German citizenship will no longer be required to renounce their Pakistani nationality. This decision removes a long-standing hurdle faced by many members of the Pakistani diaspora in Germany.

The agreement is expected to benefit thousands of Pakistanis by providing greater legal security, easier access to rights and services in Germany, and stronger ties with Pakistan. It also allows individuals to maintain family, property, and business connections in Pakistan while fully integrating into German society.
Officials say the move reflects Pakistan’s commitment to supporting overseas Pakistanis and strengthening bilateral relations with Germany. The decision has been widely welcomed by the Pakistani community as a positive and practical step forward.
