Pakistan has not been included in a new US visitor visa bond programme that requires citizens of certain countries to provide a financial guarantee of up to $20,000 before obtaining a visitor visa.

The programme, which came into effect on August 1, applies to nationals of 50 selected countries identified under the new US policy. Travelers from these countries may be required to pay a refundable bond as a condition for receiving a non-immigrant visitor visa, depending on their individual circumstances and visa category.

Since Pakistan is not on the list, Pakistani applicants will continue to follow the existing US visitor visa application process without being subject to the new financial guarantee requirement under this programme.

The visa bond initiative is intended to encourage compliance with US immigration rules, particularly ensuring that visitors depart the country before their authorized stay expires. The bond amount can vary based on individual assessments and may be refunded if the traveler fully complies with the terms of their visa.

For Pakistani travelers, the exemption means there are no additional financial deposit requirements under the newly introduced policy. However, applicants must still meet all existing US visa eligibility criteria, including documentation, interviews, and other standard requirements.

Travelers planning to visit the United States are advised to stay informed through official US government channels for the latest visa regulations and application procedures.
