Prime Minister Meets Qatar Businessmen Association Delegation to Boost Investment and Trade Ties

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with a delegation of the Qatar Businessmen Association (QBA), led by its Chairman, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani. The meeting focused on strengthening economic cooperation, promoting business-to-business partnerships, and increasing investment opportunities between Pakistan and Qatar.

Welcoming the delegation, the Prime Minister appreciated the constructive role of the Qatar Businessmen Association in enhancing economic and trade relations between the two countries. He said that Pakistan highly values private sector-led engagement as a key pillar of bilateral partnership. He emphasized that strong cooperation between business communities can open new doors for trade, investment, and long-term economic growth.

Highlighting Pakistan’s improving economic indicators, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif shared details about recent reforms introduced to facilitate foreign investment. He invited QBA members to explore investment opportunities in key sectors such as infrastructure, logistics, energy, agriculture, technology, and export-oriented manufacturing. He assured the delegation that Pakistan offers a business-friendly environment and strong government support for international investors.

The Prime Minister also underlined the importance of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), describing it as a one-window platform designed to ensure transparency, efficiency, and timely decision-making for investors. He stated that SIFC plays a vital role in removing barriers and providing fast-track solutions to encourage foreign direct investment in Pakistan.

Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani expressed interest in expanding business-to-business cooperation and exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan. He appreciated the government’s efforts to improve the investment climate and showed willingness to strengthen economic collaboration between the private sectors of both countries.

Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement, including the upcoming visit of the Pakistan-Qatar Investment Task Force to Doha later this month. They also discussed organizing trade forums to turn discussions into practical economic partnerships. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to facilitating stronger connections between business leaders and entrepreneurs of both nations.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi were also present at the meeting. The discussion reflected a shared determination to expand trade and investment ties through closer cooperation between the private sectors of Pakistan and Qatar.
