Grand Mufti of Egypt Issues Fatwa: Hajj Without Permit is Sinful

Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Nizar Muhammad Eyaad, has issued a significant fatwa regarding performing Hajj without proper authorization. He emphasized that undertaking Hajj without obtaining the official permit from the Saudi authorities not only violates the law but is also considered invalid according to Islamic teachings.

In an interview, the Grand Mufti stated that when securing permission is deemed essential for the public interest, disobeying this requirement is sinful. He affirmed that having a permit has become a fundamental condition for ZHajj, and those who undertake the pilgrimage without it are considered sinful. Moreover, he pointed out that such actions not only break the law but also harm Pakistan’s reputation.

He further explained that this practice goes against Islamic principles, and it can negatively impact the host country, Saudi Arabia, as unpermitted pilgrims may disrupt the arrangements of Hajj.
