Pakistan’s National Assembly has officially become the country’s first AI-powered parliament after Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq inaugurated the new “AI Parliament Module” and “AI-Powered Speaker Office” at Parliament House. The modern digital initiative has been developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB) to improve parliamentary operations through artificial intelligence, secure digital systems, and paperless governance.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has already launched a nationwide digital transformation drive aimed at shifting government departments toward paperless systems. She added that the National Assembly had already implemented the e-office system, while the integration of AI technology will further modernize parliamentary procedures and improve efficiency.
