Dubai has introduced a major welfare initiative for delivery riders who spend long hours working outdoors in extreme summer temperatures. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has activated 40 fully air-conditioned rest areas across the city, providing riders with safe and comfortable spaces to take breaks during their shifts.
The facilities have been specially designed for delivery workers who travel throughout the city delivering food, parcels, and other essential items. Each rest area offers a cool environment, seating arrangements, and other basic amenities to help riders recover from the intense heat, which often exceeds 45°C during the summer months.
