From July 1, 2026, Airblue will become Pakistan’s first fully cashless airline, marking a major step in the country’s aviation history. The private airline has announced this decision after completing 22 years of successful operations.

According to the airline management, Airblue is moving completely toward a digital payment system. After the new system is implemented, no cash payments will be accepted for any service including ticket booking, cargo, or other airline-related transactions.

This means that all passengers will now have to use digital payment methods. These include the Airblue mobile application, official website, online bank transfers, and debit or credit cards.

The airline says that the main purpose of this change is to make payments safer, faster, and more transparent for passengers. By shifting to a cashless system, Airblue aims to follow modern international aviation standards and improve the overall travel experience.

Officials further explained that digital payments will also reduce delays at booking counters and help streamline operations. It will make transactions easier for both domestic and international passengers.

Airblue’s management believes that this step will modernize the airline industry in Pakistan and encourage more people to adopt digital banking and cashless services. They also highlighted that many airlines around the world are already using fully digital systems for better efficiency and customer convenience.

Passengers have been advised to prepare in advance for the new system and ensure they have access to digital payment options before booking tickets or using airline services after July 1.
