ATMs Run Dry as Ramadan Begins in Pakistan

A large number of ATMs in Karachi and other parts of Pakistan ran out of cash as people rushed to withdraw money for shopping and household expenses at the start of Ramadan. The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee confirmed that the first Ramadan would fall on Sunday. The sudden surge in withdrawals led to a cash shortage, causing inconvenience to the public.
