The Excise and Taxation Department has announced a major relief for citizens across Punjab by launching the re-registration process for vehicles originally registered in other provinces. Starting from tomorrow, vehicle owners will be able to re-register such vehicles in Lahore and other cities of Punjab.
For re-registration, applicants are required to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC), original vehicle documents, and existing number plates at the relevant excise office. After verification of the documents and vehicle details, a new Punjab registration number will be issued.

Officials also informed that biometric verification through the Pak ID app is in its final stages. Once implemented, citizens will be able to complete vehicle registration and transfer procedures from home without visiting excise offices.
This initiative aims to save time, reduce congestion at government offices, and make the registration process more convenient, transparent, and citizen-friendly.
