Pakistan is preparing to export halal meat worth Rs. 47 billion to Malaysia over the next five years, marking a significant milestone for the country’s livestock and export sectors. The initiative reflects Pakistan’s growing strength in the global halal food market and its expanding trade relations with Southeast Asia.

Under the plan, Pakistan will export approximately 130,000 metric tons of meat, which will require around 552,000 livestock animals. The project involves a total investment of $140 million, with $80 million contributed by the private sector and $60 million by the government, highlighting strong public-private collaboration.

Pakistan and Germany Finalize Dual Nationality Agreement

Government officials have officially declared halal meat as a priority export sector, aiming to boost foreign exchange earnings, diversify exports, and enhance value-added agricultural trade. The initiative is also expected to create new opportunities for local farmers, meat processors, exporters, and investors, while improving modern slaughtering, processing, and cold-chain infrastructure.

The agreement will further strengthen Pakistan–Malaysia trade ties and position Pakistan as a reliable supplier in the international halal market. With rising global demand for halal food, this export plan is seen as a strategic step toward sustainable economic growth and increased agricultural exports.
