Italy will issue 10,500 work visas for Pakistan’s skilled labour force in an effort to promote legal migration, Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi announced. The decision was shared during his meeting with Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Rome.
During the meeting, both sides discussed strengthening cooperation on internal security and enhancing joint efforts to curb illegal immigration. According to an official statement released on Wednesday, the talks focused on promoting safe and legal pathways for migration while preventing human trafficking and unlawful border crossings.

The new visa allocation is expected to create employment opportunities for skilled Pakistani workers in various sectors in Italy. Officials described the move as a positive step toward strengthening bilateral ties and encouraging regulated labour mobility between the two countries.
