Pakistan has successfully secured a quota of 10,500 jobs from Italy, marking a significant achievement in expanding overseas employment opportunities for Pakistani workers.
According to official details, Italy has allocated 3,500 jobs per year for Pakistani citizens over the next three years. These employment opportunities will be available in key sectors, including shipbreaking, healthcare, and agriculture, which are facing labor shortages in Italy.
Officials said the agreement will help strengthen Pakistan–Italy bilateral cooperation while providing skilled and semi-skilled Pakistani workers with legal and structured employment pathways. The initiative is also expected to increase foreign remittances, supporting Pakistan’s economy and improving the livelihoods of thousands of families.
The move reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan’s workforce, particularly in labor-intensive and essential sectors. Authorities emphasized that recruitment will be conducted through official and regulated channels to ensure worker protection, transparency, and compliance with labor laws.
Experts believe this development will reduce illegal migration risks and create long-term opportunities for Pakistanis seeking employment abroad. The government has welcomed Italy’s decision, calling it a positive step toward expanding overseas employment and strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
This job quota is expected to play an important role in addressing unemployment and enhancing Pakistan’s global labor footprint.
