The scholarships are offered under the Higher Education Commission Pakistan through the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme, which has become one of the most popular international scholarship initiatives for Pakistani students. Officials have recently announced further expansion of the programme, calling it a major milestone in bilateral educational collaboration.

Pakistan Offers 4,500 Fully Funded Scholarships to Afghan Students

For the 2026 academic year, the scholarship cycle has entered its final stages. So far, around 26,000 applications have been received, showing the growing demand among Pakistani students for international education opportunities. The final selection process for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programmes is expected to be completed by June 2026.

In addition, Pakistan and Hungary have renewed their agreement to continue the programme, ensuring 400 scholarships annually until 2028. This extension highlights the long-term commitment of both countries to strengthening educational ties and supporting academic exchange.

Under the programme, selected students receive fully funded education, including tuition fee coverage, accommodation, and a monthly stipend. The scholarships are available across a wide range of disciplines such as engineering, information technology, medical sciences, and social sciences, making it a comprehensive opportunity for students from diverse academic backgrounds.

This initiative is playing a crucial role in enabling Pakistani students to gain international exposure, advanced skills, and global perspectives. It not only supports individual academic growth but also contributes to building a highly skilled workforce that can bring knowledge and innovation back to Pakistan.

Overall, the continued expansion of this scholarship programme reflects a growing vision of global education collaboration, providing young Pakistanis with the chance to compete and excel on the international stage.
