In light of extreme summer temperatures exceeding 45°C (113°F), Hajj Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah issued critical health advisories. Pilgrims have been urged to remain in their tents between 10 AM and 4 PM to avoid peak heat exposure. The ministry stressed the importance of hydration and cautioned against unnecessary outdoor activities that could lead to heat exhaustion or more serious medical emergencies.
These dual-focused guidelines address both security concerns and weather challenges, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s comprehensive approach to pilgrim welfare. Violators face strict penalties including deportation, as the kingdom seeks to ensure a safe and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for all attendees. The annual pilgrimage, expected to draw over 2 million Muslims, requires meticulous coordination amid growing climate change impacts on the region’s summer conditions.
