The federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26 is scheduled to be presented tomorrow, with a proposed allocation of Rs. 15 billion for the Ministry of Health’s development projects. The details of the ministry’s plans have been released, which include 21 ongoing projects with no new programs added.
Federal Budget Presentation Likely to be Postponed Again
Key allocations include Rs. 5 billion for the Prime Minister’s Quaid-e-Azam Health Tower in Islamabad, Rs. 80 million for the National Diabetes Program, Rs. 1 billion for Hepatitis C, Rs. 17 million for establishing a cancer hospital in Islamabad, and Rs. 100 million for the National Action Plan on Population. Other major allocations are Rs. 200 million for Jinnah Hospital in Islamabad, Rs. 360 million for four basic health centers, Rs. 200 million for an integrated disease surveillance system, Rs. 100 million for the King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Hospital’s ongoing 10-year project, and Rs. 200 million for the prevention of TB, AIDS, and Malaria.
These allocations reflect ongoing health initiatives, with no new major projects planned for the coming fiscal year.
