As Eid-ul-Fitr approaches, citizens are rushing to get new currency notes. The State Bank of Pakistan has made it easier for people to obtain new notes by sending a text message.
To get new notes, citizens can send their CNIC number and bank branch details to 8877 via SMS. Once the message is sent, the citizen will receive a confirmation SMS, and the new notes will be available at the designated bank branch within two days.
Upon receiving the confirmation SMS, citizens can visit the bank branch with their original CNIC and a photocopy to collect the new notes. Each citizen can collect three packets of Rs. 10 notes, one packet of Rs. 50 notes, and one packet of Rs. 100 notes.
It’s worth noting that each CNIC and mobile number can only be used once. For any complaints or inquiries, citizens can contact the State Bank’s helpline at 111-008-877.
