The Lahore Traffic Police has declared CBD Main Boulevard a no-go area for heavy bikers, announcing a strict crackdown on reckless riding, illegal racing, and one-wheeling to improve road safety across the city.

According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi, groups of heavy bikers have been creating noise, disrupting traffic, and engaging in dangerous racing activities, particularly during weekend nights. To address these concerns, divisional and circle officers have been directed to personally supervise enforcement operations.

The crackdown will focus on riders involved in one-wheeling, overspeeding, dangerous stunts, road blocking, and public disorder. Traffic police have been instructed to take immediate action against violators and register criminal cases where necessary.

Special monitoring has been ordered for key roads, including CBD Main Boulevard, Defence Main Boulevard, and Canal Road, where illegal racing and stunt riding are frequently reported. Night shift traffic teams across Lahore have also been directed to intensify operations against speeding and reckless driving.

The CTO has instructed officers to use Safe City surveillance cameras to identify offenders and ensure effective enforcement. Authorities believe that technology-assisted monitoring will help detect violations more quickly and improve road safety.

Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi also appealed to parents to keep a close watch on young riders, reminding families that overspeeding and one-wheeling can lead to serious injuries or fatal accidents. He emphasized that public cooperation is essential in preventing dangerous behavior on city roads.

In addition to motorcycle enforcement, traffic officials will conduct special inspections of heavy vehicles to ensure they meet road safety requirements and comply with traffic regulations.

The Lahore Traffic Police has urged all road users to follow traffic laws, avoid reckless driving, and respect public safety. Officials say the campaign is aimed at protecting lives, reducing accidents, and ensuring smooth traffic flow, especially during busy weekend evenings when violations are more common.

The new measures reflect the city’s commitment to creating safer roads for motorists, motorcyclists, pedestrians, and families while discouraging illegal racing and other hazardous activities.
