A major disruption has hit internet services across Pakistan, with users experiencing slow speeds due to a submarine cable cut near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. According to PTCL, the South East Asia – Middle East – Western Europe (SEA – ME – WE) cable’s partial disruption has impacted the country’s internet connectivity.
The cut affected the SMW4 and IMEWE bandwidth, causing difficulties for users during peak hours. However, PTCL is working to minimize the impact by diverting traffic through alternative bandwidth resources. These efforts aim to stabilize and restore connectivity nationwide as soon as possible.
While the situation is being closely monitored, users are advised to bear with the temporary inconvenience. PTCL’s prompt response is expected to mitigate the issue, ensuring a return to normal internet services in the near future.
