Pakistan’s auto market recorded a strong rebound in July 2026, with car sales increasing by 141.28% year-on-year.
According to data from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA), a total of 17,216 vehicles were sold in July 2026, compared with 7,135 units during the same month last year.
The sharp increase reflects a significant improvement in vehicle demand as the new financial year began. The auto sector has faced challenges in recent years, including rising prices, high financing costs, import restrictions and economic uncertainty.
The latest figures suggest that consumer confidence in the automobile market may be improving, although sustained growth will depend on vehicle prices, financing conditions and overall economic stability.

The data also showed growth in electric vehicle sales during July, highlighting the gradually increasing interest in more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles in Pakistan.
The strong start to FY2026-27 could provide a much-needed boost to local automakers, dealerships and the wider automotive supply chain.
