The Punjab government has decided to introduce a new and comprehensive inspection system for both public and private educational institutions across the province. The initiative aims to improve transparency, accountability, and overall educational standards.
Under the new framework, multiple government departments will jointly monitor schools and colleges instead of relying on a single inspection authority. The inspections will assess key areas including cleanliness, the overall learning environment, teacher and staff attendance, availability of teaching materials, electricity supply, clean drinking water, washroom facilities, and the condition of boundary walls.

Several agencies, including the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT), Special Branch, and Crime Free Model Program (CFMP), will be involved in the monitoring process. In addition, reports from electronic, print, and social media will also be taken into account to ensure a broader and more transparent evaluation.
According to government officials, the new system will help assess the performance of educational institutions more fairly and identify problems at an early stage. Institutions found negligent or involved in misconduct will face prompt action.
The government believes this inspection system will lead to better facilities, improved discipline, and a safer, more effective learning environment for students across Punjab.
