The Government of Sindh has made the vehicle ownership transfer process easier by introducing biometric verification through NADRA. This new facility allows both buyers and sellers to complete verification without unnecessary delays, making the transfer process faster and more convenient.

Under the new system, biometric verification can be completed at any NADRA office, e-centre, or through the Pak-ID mobile application from home. This step is expected to save time and reduce the need for repeated visits to government offices.

After completing biometric verification, both the buyer and seller must sign a stamp paper sale agreement. They are then required to submit all necessary documents to the Excise and Taxation Office for the transfer of ownership.

The required documents include the original vehicle registration book or smart card, copies of CNICs of both parties, passport-size photographs, a sale agreement, a vehicle clearance certificate, a valid tax payment certificate, proof of residence, and a vehicle inspection certificate.

According to officials, once all documents are verified and approved, the ownership transfer process will be completed within 15 working days. This digital initiative is designed to improve transparency, reduce fraud, and make vehicle transactions more secure.

The transfer fee has also been outlined. Motorcycle ownership transfers start from Rs605, while transfer fees for cars between 800cc and 1000cc begin at Rs2,000. Fees for higher-engine-capacity vehicles may vary according to government regulations.

The new online biometric verification system is being welcomed by vehicle owners and dealers across Sindh. Many believe it will simplify the transfer process and help citizens complete legal ownership changes more efficiently.

This move reflects the government’s efforts to modernize public services and make official procedures easier through digital technology and improved access to government facilities.
