The City Traffic Police Lahore have launched a strict enforcement campaign against underage drivers, unlicensed motorists, and unsafe motorcycle practices such as triple riding across Lahore.

Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi announced that the operation will be implemented with a zero-tolerance policy, especially during holidays when traffic violations usually increase. He said that strict action will be taken against individuals under 18 years of age found driving cars or motorcycles.

According to officials, underage drivers will face challans, vehicle impoundment, and will also be required to submit a written undertaking signed by their parents to prevent future violations. The move aims to improve road safety and reduce accidents caused by inexperienced drivers.

The CTO further stated that drivers without a valid driving license will be fined Rs. 5,000 for cars and Rs. 2,000 for motorcycles. Learner permit holders will not be allowed to drive without proper supervision.

Traffic police have also announced strict action against triple riding on motorcycles, which officials described as a major safety risk for passengers and other road users. Special checkpoints are being set up near licensing centers to help unlicensed riders obtain proper driving licenses.

During his visit to various entry and exit points of the city, including the Gajjumata checkpoint, the CTO reviewed ongoing enforcement operations. He inspected vehicle checking procedures and ensured compliance with traffic regulations.

Officials also confirmed that commercial vehicles without valid documents, including driving licenses, fitness certificates, and proper lighting systems, are being stopped from entering the city. Vehicles with faulty or missing rear lights or those using excessive high-beam lights will also face strict action.

Authorities emphasized that only fully compliant vehicles will be allowed entry into Lahore, as part of efforts to improve road safety and traffic discipline across the city.
