Punjab Government Approves Rs1.14 Billion Plan to Purchase 108 Luxury and Official Vehicles

The Punjab government has finalized a major vehicle procurement plan for ministers, bureaucrats, and VIP officials for the current fiscal year. According to official documents, a total of 108 new vehicles will be purchased at an estimated cost of Rs1.14 billion, pending final cabinet approval.

TikTok Ban Resolution Submitted in Punjab Assembly

Officials from the Transport Wing have submitted detailed recommendations for the cabinet’s review. For the Punjab Cabinet, 28 new vehicles have been proposed at a total cost of Rs300 million. The list includes one Land Cruiser, two Haval 1.5 vehicles, five Grand Altis cars, 10 Toyota Altis vehicles, and 10 Toyota Yaris cars.

In addition, two bulletproof four-by-four vehicles worth Rs40 million have been approved for two ministers. Authorities have already granted permission for their purchase due to security considerations.

For VIP security arrangements, 25 additional vehicles costing Rs270 million have also been approved. The move aims to enhance mobility and protection for senior officials.

The largest allocation, amounting to Rs530 million, has been proposed for the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team. This includes 30 double-cabin vehicles, 11 Toyota Yaris cars, three Toyota Altis vehicles, Suzuki Cultus cars, and motorcycles for operational use.

Officials stated that once final approval is granted, the procurement process will formally begin.
