In a significant move to improve digital services, Saudi General Directorate of Passports has announced a new Platform for expatriates living outside the Kingdom. Individuals who are currently abroad can now renew Iqama (resident ID) for their family members and domestic workers easily through the online platform Absher.

This update is especially helpful for overseas residents who previously faced difficulties managing residency-related tasks while outside Saudi Arabia. With this new system, users no longer need to travel back just to renew documents, making the process faster and more convenient.

According to the official statement, the entire renewal process can be completed online by following simple steps. For domestic workers, users need to log in to Absher, go to the Workers Services section, select Resident Services, choose the concerned individual (beneficiary), and then click on the Iqama Renewal option.

For family members, the process is quite similar. After logging in, users must navigate to Family Members Services, then select Resident Services, choose the relevant person, and proceed with the Iqama renewal option.

Authorities have also emphasized that users must meet all required conditions and follow the official guidelines to successfully complete the renewal process. This ensures compliance with Saudi regulations while maintaining a smooth experience for users.

This initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to expand digital governance and make essential services more accessible. By enabling Iqama renewal from abroad, the government is not only simplifying procedures but also supporting expatriates in managing their responsibilities without unnecessary travel or delays.
