Russia has clearly stated that it supports Iran in the ongoing conflict with Israel and does not consider itself neutral in the situation. The statement came from Russia’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Andrey Kelin, who spoke about Moscow’s position during the growing tensions in the region.
According to Kelin, Russia stands in solidarity with Iran and believes that the current Western narrative about the conflict is unfair. He argued that many Western countries are presenting Iran as the only side responsible for the escalation, which he described as an inaccurate and one-sided view of the situation.
“We are not neutral,” Kelin said while discussing Russia’s position. He added that blaming Iran alone for the rising tensions ignores the broader developments in the region. The Russian envoy also claimed that the West is overlooking actions taken by the United States and Israel, which he said contributed to the current crisis.

Russia’s stance highlights the growing geopolitical divide as global powers respond differently to the conflict. Moscow has repeatedly called for a more balanced approach when discussing the situation and has warned that continued military escalation could worsen instability across the Middle East.
Despite expressing support for Tehran, Kelin emphasized that Russia still believes the best solution is an immediate ceasefire. He said diplomatic talks and negotiations remain the only realistic path to reducing tensions and preventing a wider regional conflict.
Russia has urged all parties involved to return to dialogue and avoid further military action, stressing that diplomacy is essential for restoring stability in the region.
